Water Damage
Photo #1: I was called in to this home to repair a wall that had extensive water damage. You can see by the photos that the plumber had cut open part of the wall to reach and fix the plumbing.
Photo #2: My first move was to remove the water damaged plaster from the surface of the wall. Then I opened the wall further, removing the area that had sustained so much water that it became unstable and needed to be taken out.
Photo #3: I then rolled on a latex bonder and let that dry. Next I worked on installing plaster board in the open hole. Then the base coat was applied over it, with fiberglass mesh being embedded to 'bridge' the area between the plaster board edge and the existing plaster.
Photo #4: A second coat was then applied after the first one was set. As this second coat was setting, a wet sponge was used to feather the edge out. A wet 1/2" thick roller cover was used to roll over the area, to duplicate the original wall texture. From start to finish this project took about 4 1/2 hours to complet
